My cool friend Wendy's girlfriend Olivia contacted me about making a ring with puzzle pieces on it. I am always game to try something new so she came over and talked about the options and decided it should be done lost wax casting style. Olivia got to work carving the wax and it looked great! I will post a photo of the finished casted piece after Wendy gets it since her birthday is in a few weeks and it is a surprise... Here is Olivia hard at work...
Mr. Robert Redford turned 75 on the 20th which brought a Colorado artist to Sundance to celebrate! Mary Baum bought my largest and most favorite cuff so far to wear to his birthday party. It was my masterpiece that I made to wear to my last gallery show at the Covey Center for the Arts and I am a little sad to see it go but happy that another artist is now enjoying it! Goodbye Limestone cuff, bless your new owner with peace and abundance! OH! And Happy Birthday Mr. Sundance Kid! Thanks for the greatest job ever!
We had my favorite musical at Sundance this summer and I volunteered to be an ambassador to work the play. I had a lot of fun and was a little sad when it was over. My favorite night was when the weather took a turn for the worse but it was almost like it was orchestrated with the play! Right as Liesel was climbing into Maria's room it started raining and lasted through the whole number of "Raindrops on roses" the audience got a kick out of it as the real lightning was right on cue with the recorded lightning! It was a great run for the play and the setting was beautiful! I am glad I got to be a part of it.
Spent the day in the studio with the ladies that are filming my video's for me, they are awesome! Got my Silversmithing video recorded and some tips and tricks. Watch for their release soon! Here is the band in progress, guess I should have taken some other photos, hindsight!
